Course overview

This course teaches the correct action to take in a first aid emergency, including administering basic life support, dealing with bleeding, burns / scolds, fractures, major illness and treatment of shock. The Elementary First Aid course is delivered from a purpose-built classroom to support STCW instruction and uses well maintained equipment such as CPR Mannikins with inbuilt compression sensors and an array of stretchers and medical apparatus. By the end of the course delegates will be able to: Understand what to do in case of an accident or other medical emergency on board Apply elementary first aid techniques Entry Requirements Delegates should be fit and well enough to demonstrate CPR at ground level. Delegates must also provide government issued photo identification on their day of training. This is a mandatory requirement and failure to provide this will prevent the delegate taking the training until verification can be made.
